Getting Around
The Padstow to Newquay No. 56 Bus stops at the end of the campsite entrance if you hail it down - they run hourly from around 9.30am (roughly-check times online).

DEPARTURE Check out is at 10.30am as we need to prepare the tipis before the arrival of the next guests.
KITCHEN TRAILER & RECEPTION The big green hut in the field is the communal kitchen area where you can find gas hobs, utensils, coffee, tea, cups, cutlery & somewhere sheltered to sit + enjoy the view. A member of our team are based here in the mornings & evenings - times vary but usually between 8-10am & 5-7pm. Here you can also buy gas canisters for your gas hob £4 each & logs at £10 per bag. Battery packs can be loaned for £5 & you can also hire our mega Weber BBQ’s from £25. We take card payments too.
We welcome you to use the site, invite friends and use all the communal & wellness areas, although we do ask that guests clean up after themselves and their dogs and are respectful of the other guests.

COMMUNAL LOTUS BELLE TENT & YOGA
The communal belle tent near the kitchen trailer is for shared use by guests, if you fancy going to chill somewhere other than your tipi feel free to go + relax inside this space. Please note if a yoga class is using the space then you must be part of the session to go inside during this time. Yoga classes will take place on Saturdays at 9 & 10am.
BEDRUTHAN STEPS BEACH ACCESS
Unfortunately the steps down to the beach have collapsed due to landslides. Accessing the beach in any other way is entirely at your own risk. Please ensure you check the tides before you head out to any beaches during your stay.
DOG WALKING & SITTING Sarah & Badger are available for dog sitting your pooch during your stay. We charge £10 per hour & know plenty of good walks & have a safe space in the field to watch over your hound. WhatsApp Sarah on 07769208607 to book. Cash preferred.
MAWGAN PORTH BEACH & PARKING The nearest car park to Mawgan Porth beach is £5 a day - no matter how long or short you stay. Mawgan Porth is about a 35 minute walk from the campsite, so if you travel light to the beach we’d recommend going by foot.

There are some great places around Mawgan Porth but further afield in Newquay the list just keeps on going. I’ve included a few local favourites here, but don’t let that limit your search for more amazing finds!
Coffee & Crepes with Morlanow Koffi ££ Welcoming our new field kitchen for this Summer by @morlanowkoffi - Marie & Tim offer delicious fresh coffee, crepes every day from 8-11am + look out for their delicious smokey meat & vegetarian mexican inspired dishes from their smoker in the campsite field during the week.
Stacks By The Sea ££ @stacks_bythesea offer epic views & yummy food, plus cold draught local beer - curry nights on Thursday & Sundays & pizzas on Fridays + Saturdays from 6pm-8pm –Pre-ordering advisable PLUS watch out for the Bedruthan Live sundowner live music sessions held at the shack by following @bedruthanlive on instagram.
Porthcothan Bay stores makes a nice walk from the tipi field, with ice cream, cakes, coffee & pop up street food. Approx a leisurely 40min walk from the tipi field along the coastal path, a dip followed by a stop here makes a lovely morning or afternoon activity.
The Falcon, St Mawgan - A freehouse pub - the way pubs are meant to be! Set in a secluded valley, a short drive from the campsite this 16th century pub is the heart of this gorgeous village which makes a great pitstop on a walk from Mawgan Porth. Pub grub, good selection of ales & a lovely pub garden make this little bolt hole a must.
The Ivy House, St Merryn ££ A wonderful experience, locally sourced menu by the family run business - this special spot is definitely worth checking out during your stay. Make sure you book in advance. No website, but the tripadvisor page says it all. The old house’s decor & funky outdoor area makes it a really memorable experience.
Got Crabs - 10 minute drive into St Merry & you can’t miss the orange street food truck serving up amazing lobster + crab sandwiches - a bit of a treat if you are heading towards Padstow / Constantine beaches + need a bite to eat.
Strong Alfondos £££ About a 15 minute drive is Strong Alfondos, set on a cute row of shops including the fabulous Finisterre they do brunch + lunch daily, walk-in only. Check times & menus before you head off but it’s a good little mission as it’s well worth it.
Zacry’s,Watergate Bay Hotel £££ Named after the square, rocky outcrop at the south end of the beach comes Zacry’s at the gorgeous Watergate Bay Hotel. The style combines Cornish attitude with a classic brasserie, while the food draws on international influences, local inspiration and contemporary American cuisine.
Mini golf & Mexican - yep, we like the combo too - check out Gilmore’s in central Newquay for this great combo if you are heading into town during your stay.
Rick Stein’s The Cornish Arms £££ A local village inn with great ales & good pub food. Attractive due to the the famous name, booking essential as a result.
The Pig ££££ This famous chain of gorgeous hotels and restaurants is a long walk (2.5hrs) or a 20 minute drive from us. Beautiful setting, slick service & a real treat for someone special. Not necessarily your most Cornish experience though. Booking essential.
Rettorick Mill ££ This place is part of a holiday park with a with a chilled-out vibe & relaxed feel which has wood fired pizzas and live music – check out https://www.facebook.com/monstapizzauk to book in for food + for the latest info. Parking available, 10 mins from the tipi field.
Cornish Fresh ££ Your local one stop shop for any emergency supplies, perfect for great coffee & fresh croissants in the mornings after a walk on the beach.
The Travellers Rest ££ A popular pub with great food and a warm welcome. Short drive or 20 min walk uphill from Mawgan Porth.
The Merrymore ££ This is the main pub in Mawgan Porth, perfectly situated for sundowners or even a greasy spoon style big breakfast. Live music, DJ sessions & friendly service make this a great place to either drink the night away or grab a bite during your day at the beach. Booking not always essential, during busy days you might just need to wait for a table.
You also have all Newquay to explore, along with Padstow & Rock further north. So many options I can’t include them all here but always always ask!
