FAQs

ARe there toilets & showers?

Guests have exclusive use of two compost toilets with toilet roll provided and two showers with hot water and Faith In Nature shower products. There is a washing up and drinking water station by the showers.

Is there electricity?

Only a little bit - our site is entirely off-grid but we have solar powered sockets available inside the kitchen trailer and also powerful battery packs you can loan from us. Just add them onto your booking as an extra.

WHERE DO I park?

Just behind your tipi, you can drive up to your hut or tent with your car for easy unloading.

DO I NEED TO BRING BEDDING?

All bedding is included, (unless you have booked a 1 night stay) with blankets and extra duvets can be requested subject to availability. Please bring your own towels.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO BRING?

Your stay essentials including a torch, comfy bed, soaps, toilet roll, furnishings and fire pit are all included. We also provide mugs, cups, coffee, tea, milks & beer & wine to buy in our kitchen trailer. We have a few pots + pans, bowls, plates, cutlery, knives etc. We should have you covered on essentials but check out the packing list we share on booking too.

Rubbish & RECYCLING

We will provide a small waste bin in each tipi. We ask you kindly to consider using re-usable plastics and minimising the waste you produce on site. There are recycling & general waste bins by the showers. We run the campsite with the Leave No Trace principles in mind.

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?

Yes - We have a family tipi with a double bed & 2 single beds. We used to be aimed solely at adults but have found that families who have brought children have loved the stripped back relaxed nature of staying with us. Please note we are not really set up for babies or really little ones - no baby changing or child loo seats for example.

FOOD & DRINK

Bring your own food and drink to curate your own Cornish culinary adventure by the sea! Remember, we don’t have electricity - so we recommend a long lasting cool box for beer, wine and perishables (not forgetting those marshmallows for the fire pit of course!)

Stacks By The Sea are just next door to us, a few minutes walk from the Seaview Tipis campsite, plus we have Morlanow Koffi serving fresh crepes & ground coffee every morning, plus smokey bbq dishes in the evenings. Be sure to pre-order with them directly.

There are loads of awesome restaurants nearby & we’ll send you are favourites in advance via email so you can book some great secret spots that we love!

ARE DOGS ALLOWED?

We accept well behaved dogs (look out for our resident pooch Badger, a very friendly miniature schnauzer) and let us know if you are bringing yours. We suggest that if your dog is prone to barking a lot or perhaps is a little nervous with strangers, maybe this isn't the right place for them. There will be dog water bowls around site and jars of treats about. We just ask that your four legged friend is kept on a lead on site, so we don't have any wanderers or surprises for other guests relaxing in their tipis! Please remember to clean up after your dog, there is a bin on site for their mess.

A list of Cornish dog friendly beaches can be found here.

CAN I USE THE FIRE PITs?

Yes! Each tipi has it’s own fire pit. These are your own responsibility during your stay. Firewood can be pre-ordered, or purchased on site. Buckets for water to extinguish them will be provided.

Please use fire pits responsibly, some tips on fire pit safety can be found here.

WHEN DO I CHECK IN & OUT?

Check in is between 4pm and 7pm on your arrival date. We will contact you on the day to arrange access and talk you through the site. We kindly ask you to check out by 10.30am on the date of your departure. We are flexible though, so just give us a shout if you want to arrive or leave outside of these times.

IS THERE A WASHING UP AREA & DRINKING WATER?

There is a washing up and drinking water station at the showers. We have a small sink inside the kitchen trailer but this is just for quick rinses while you cook.

CAN I GET DOWN TO BEDRUTHAN STEPS?

During the winter storms, the cliff steps leading down to Bedruthan Steps Beach, which are maintained by the National Trust, had a major rockfall and have been deemed too dangerous to be used. The National Trust have stated these will be closed until further notice. Mawgan Porth, Park Head and Porthcothan beaches are all within 30-45 minute walking distance.

SECURITY

The field is gated & secure, with a 24/7 manned campsite reception in the main camping field. We are not near a cliff edge for it to be dangerous to camp, we have large section of the field, before a wall & then the coastal path. Please keep sight of dogs & children who are your responsibility at all times.

CAN I BOOK THE ENTIRE SEAVIEW TIPIS SITE?
